Steven Frits

Committed to Our Home, Investing in Our Future.

Steven Frits was born in Sussex and raised in Lower Millstream. He grew up in the countryside among farms and watched closely his dad running a mechanic shop and Gas-convenience store. His entrepreneurship spirit pushed him to take over the family business in his late teens and later added two more businesses in the area serving people from Norton to Coles Island. He spent two decades in the gas, food services and convenience store business with two stores also being independent locations for New Brunswick Liquor (ANBL).

During his time as a small business operator, he developed skills in planning, organizing, managing finances and sourcing the best deals from suppliers to offer his customers excellent value and variety. He also provided and supported events and programs in the communities such as hunting contests, school lunch programs and Canada Day celebrations. In 2017 he sold his businesses and enrolled in the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program from McMaster University where he completed his degree in Digital Transformation in November of 2019. In the past three years he has served people in the financial sector as an Executive Financial Planner with Scotiabank.

A firmer believer of New Brunswick’s potential and its people, Steven is seeking the opportunity to stand for the constituents of the newly formed Arcadia Butternut Maple Hills riding.  He understands the advantages and challenges of rural living. He believes in the potential and value of the agricultural sector and small business operators which are the backbones of New Brunswick’s economy.

Steve welcomes the opportunity to put his skills and experience to serve the people in his riding. Giving the chance, Steven will look for and champion opportunities for his fellow New Brunswickers. He knows there are changes that are doable and could bring on a better quality of life for the constituents.

Steve, his wife Mariela, and their four children are excited about this opportunity. They know the privilege and responsibility that comes with serving their community and look forward to doing it well.
